Here’s an example of how transaction fees work for a $100 BTC transaction:

Alice wants to send 0.01 BTC ($100) to Bob.
The transaction size is 250 bytes.
The current fee rate is 100 satoshis per byte.
The transaction fee for this transaction would be 250 * 100 satoshis = 25,000 satoshis.
At the current exchange rate, 25,000 satoshis is worth about $0.36 (0.000025 BTC * $14,400/BTC).
Alice’s wallet software calculates that the fee of 25,000 satoshis is sufficient to get the transaction included in the next block.
Alice sends the transaction with the calculated fee to the Bitcoin network.
A miner picks up the transaction and includes it in the next block.
The miner gets rewarded with the transaction fee of 25,000 satoshis, in addition to the block reward for mining the block.

Transaction fees for Ethereum (ETH) transactions are paid in Ether (ETH) and are based on the complexity of the transaction and the current demand for block space.

Here’s an example of how transaction fees work for a $100 ETH transaction:

Alice wants to send 1 ETH ($100) to Bob.
The transaction complexity is estimated to be 500,000 gas.
The current gas price is 50 Gwei (1 Gwei is equal to 0.000000001 ETH).
The transaction fee for this transaction would be 500,000 gas * 50 Gwei = 0.000025 ETH.
At the current exchange rate, 0.000025 ETH is worth about $0.36 (0.000025 ETH * $1,440/ETH).
Alice’s wallet software calculates that the fee of 0.000025 ETH is sufficient to get the transaction included in the next block.
Alice sends the transaction with the calculated fee to the Ethereum network.
A miner picks up the transaction and includes it in the next block.
The miner gets rewarded with the transaction fee of 0.000025 ETH, in addition to the block reward for mining the block.
